Turbine Hall B, Battersea Power Station

7000 m²
London, UK
2006 Project taken to Schematic Design phase

This project undertaken whilst working at HMKM

HMKM were invited to join a collaboration to develop one of London’s landmark buildings for Parkview International. Our contribution was to convert Turbine Hall B into a retail destination with a gross area of approximately 7000m²

The largest challenge was to infill an enormous clear volume, where the turbines had once stood. Our concept was to infill this void with “Retail clusters” or “towers”. The towers would be connected back to each floor and act as “stepping stones” between perimeter balconies.
